Quentin is a very complex character that effects the family in a distinct way. Within the chapter you are able to see his mental state within the writing. Towards the end of the chapter punctuation was not present, showing the unrest of his thoughts and restless thinking. Quentin is very different from his brother in his relationship with Caddy. Quentin believes that he is saving and protecting Caddy, rather his brother's relationship is much more of lust for Caddy.
